Kicking off the night was Indika Band hailing from Chicago with each member coming from their own cultural background, thus adding a special element to the overall sound. The band consisted of Band leader and bassist Courtney Panton, Lead vocalist Uroy Muslar, Daron Walker on drums, Keyboardist Ryan Coleman and Guitarist Gerald “Toto” Alfred. Indika Band delivered to us classic covers from artist like Sanchez to Beres Hammond, and even some of their own original pieces as well! Next

Kabaka Pyramid Live At The Electric, Brixton 2015

Kabaka Pyramid live. This summer and autumn has seen something that is rare these days for reggae in the UK, that being UK reggae tours and the artists that had the pleasure being Chronixx and Protoje. Another artist from the same Jamaican roots ‘revival’ family is Kabaka Pyramid and he has followed in their footsteps with a short tour, but a UK tour nonetheless. With little or no rest travelling across land,

SOJA Live At The Granada Theater 2015

The Granada does it again! If you’ve never been to The Granada just know the amount of amazing shows they bring to Lawrence, KS is unbelievable! So of course when I heard they were bringing SOJA, J BOOG and Dustin Thomas I couldn’t help but to think, “but of course!” Doors opened around 7pm with the first act going on around 8. As Black Uhuru was called to the stage, out walked founder and leader Derrick

Catch A Fire Tour September 2015

Catch A Fire Tour 2015. Let me start by saying the name of the tour does no justice when it comes down to describing the amount of FYAH! brought to the stage. The Catch a Fire Tour kicked off in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on August 29th and made it’s 8th stop at the Crossroads KC in Kansas City, Missouri on September 11th. I might add that September 11th is an all around monumental day. For starters it’s the day Ethiopia celebrates their New Year a day that is also celebrated by those of the Rastafari. Also, on the same day we
