Jah Hammed Champion Sound Review

Jah Hammed – Champion Sound – Review

Jah Hammed Champion Sound Review by Gav Pauze for Pauzeradio.com. The brand new release of Jah Hammed Champion Sound, released on the 1st September 2019 features a variety of songs and a couple of really tight collaborations, with each song having the Total Satisfaction Records defined touch on production. Leading the charge on ‘Champion Sound’, the title track starts out the album perfectly, a smooth and sweet riddim that could almost pass with some nice lovers rock lyrics. When Jah Hammed starts singing, you soon realise that it’s a sound system pleaser. Moving onto the second track, ‘Finding My Way’.

Ras Teo Meets Lone Ark Ten Thousand Lions

Ras Teo Meets Lone Ark – Ten Thousand Lions – Review

Ras Teo Meets Lone Ark – Ten Thousand Lions – Review for Pauzeradio.com. I’ve been waiting all summer! With its final days swathed in glorious sunshine here in the UK, this is the sound I’ve been waiting for. Sincere thanks go out to Ras Teo Hartoonian. While many will be aware of this artiste via tracks such as Entah, Jah Jah Come and the excellent, Togetherness, this was THE album to restore and compound my faith in the protracted health and future of real Roots Reggae music. And make no mistake; there still exists a massive chasm of divide between

YT – No Wata Down Ting – Review

YT No Wata Down Ting Review for Pauzeradio.com. From its opening track, ‘God Bless Pickney’, which reminds of reggae classic, ‘I’m Gonna Send Him To Outta Space’, to its closing ‘At Dem’, this superbly constructed album screams a defiant message of ‘VARIETY’ at those seeking out a truly eclectic sound. This isn’t one of those patched together albums with only two, three, or even four sounds of note, but a serious competitor for one of the best put out in the reggae ether for a long, long age. And ‘No Wata Down Ting’, with its ”We don’t want no ice

Menny More On Air Live Album Review

Menny More – On Air Live – Review

Menny More On Air Live Review for Pauzeradio.com. Menny More has been a regular feature in the Unique Reggae Mix radio show on Pauzeradio.com for many years and has a unique style. His vocals are consistent and unlike any other artist on the circuit. This latest album from Menny More called “On Air Live” does not disappoint. Menny More On Air Live starts out with “Last Laugh” sitting on a classic, forward driving riddim track, this song is an ideal taster of the overall feel of the album. Being uptempo but holding tight with a roots feel, pushing across the

Lion Pride Riddim Review

Lion Pride Riddim – Review

Lion Pride Riddim Review Over the past year I have noticed that many I and Pauzeradio.com collaborate with have stepped up their work rate and this is the exact description needed for Upsetta Records and all involved in their projects. With the last release from them being the Reggae Robin riddim, which was smothered in big tunes, I had high hopes for this latest release the Lion Pride riddim. The line up to the riddim at first glance had me thinking right away “wow” what a collection of greats all on one riddim and I had a feeling that I

Subajah – Architect – Review

Subajah Architect Review. When it comes to authentic roots reggae Subajah is certainly defining himself in that category, and this latest album release does more than prove that to be true. A solid mix of deep, meaningful, message lyrics, performed excellently and accompanied with incredible musical instruments, all produced to the highest of quality. It’s easy to hear that real instruments are used to create this masterpiece that is Architect. The structure and composition help to create a vibration that I feel, is what roots reggae is all about, upliftment with truth, rights, faith and real life experiences. The album

Stephen Dajure – I’m Not A Criminal – Review

Stephen Dajure I’m Not A Criminal Album Review Just in case you didn’t know anything about Stephen Dajure yet, he became an up rising sensation, perfecting his talent while performing on some small shows around the parish of St Ann in Jamaica. As a recording artist Stephen Dajure’s influences run far and wide from Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Burning Spear, Buju Banton, Sizzla, Garnett Silk, Denis Brown, Beres Hammond, Jah Cure, Michael Jackson, John Mayer and Usher, just to name a few. The influences from singing legends he has only briefly gives away how talented this artist is and it’s clear

Perfect Giddimani – Reggae Farm Work – Review

Perfect Giddimani Reggae Farm Work Review by Dan Subtifuge for Pauzeradio.com. Perfect Giddimani aka Greg Rose is an artist that needs no real introduction. Born in 1980’s Jamaica and immersed in Roots culture from early on in life, he started off named as Little Ninja on the Trend Setter Sound system until later changing his stage name to Perfect Giddimani. Things really kicked off for him after the change of name, with his first major hit being back in 2000 with a steady stream of hits ever since, including the likes of “Hand Cart Bwoy” , “I Smoked A Spliff”

Pinge Ling Riddim – 2016 – Review

General Rating out of 10 – 9/10 This release to me is the epitome of good “Nu Skool/Digital Roots”, Combining the best of veteran Vocal Artists and a wicked 80/90s inspired Riddim. The Riddim itself is a nice easy rocking Digital Roots One Drop beat, with a perfect balance of Keys, melodica and deep warm subby bass, with a cheeky guitar lick that blends in to the mix subtlety just carrying the track along as the bass and other elements make you bob your head to the beat without even noticing. The vocals themselves deal with a variety of styles

Dada Yute – Zion Bird – Review

Reggae is truly universal and it’s always exciting when new artists arise. Which leads me to introducing you to this great, uprising artist from Brazil. ‘Dada Yute’ is an artist that started music aged 17 in one of Brazils top groups ‘Lions Of Israel’ They toured most of Brazil and even Jamaica, appearing on ‘Rebel Salute’. Now he has embarked on a solo career, and to kick it of he brings you this new EP. ‘Zion Bird’ is a 5 track EP of high quality music, vocal and production. Kicking off is the track ‘Ganja Lips Woman’ in which he’s
