Turbulence Biography:

Turbulence, born Sheldon Campbell on January 11, 1980, in Kingston, Jamaica, is an accomplished reggae artist known for his conscious lyrics and powerful delivery. Growing up in Kingston, he saw the very harsh realities of poverty and violence from an early age. Putting these challenges aside, music provided an escape and a form of expression for him.

Inspiration and style
Turbulence’s journey into music began in his teenage years when he started performing at local talent shows and events. Inspired by the sounds of Bob Marley, Dennis Brown, and Burning Spear, he developed his unique style mixing roots reggae with elements of dancehall and spirituality.

In the late 1990s, Turbulence caught the attention of veteran producer Philip “Fatis” Burrell, founder of the renowned Xterminator record label. Burrell recognised Turbulence’s talent and offered him a recording contract. This collaboration resulted in Turbulence’s debut album, “Different Thing,” released in 2000, which turned heads and established him as a rising star in reggae.

Throughout the early 2000s, Turbulence continued to release hit singles and albums, including “Notorious – The Album” (2003) and “United States of Africa” (2006), which further set his reputation as a conscious reggae artist with a global appeal.
