The Lambsbread – Bring Them Together – Review

The Lambsbread have been producing quality reggae music from out of Hawaii since 2003. Working with producers in Hawaii, Jamaica, Miami and Europe constantly expanding their reach to all Reggae lovers worldwide. This latest release, oozes great Reggae music. The album features Fourteen tough Reggae hits.

Beginning with the title track of the album “Bring Them Together” creates a solid start to this new album, the strong main vocals coupled up with sweet harmonies spreads the message of coming together, a very important song for the times we live in now. The positive lyrics are hard hitting with the powerful, driving message of everyone uniting. The laid back riddim fits the song completing it as a perfect start to this highly anticipated album from The Lambsbread.

“Veteran” powers through as track two on “Bring Them Together”. Again tight lyrics and as expected, very well produced. An impeccable, strong message of positive livity and how the Rastafarian faith can help through any troubled time. A Universal message can be taken on board here with very powerful and ear binding vocals, backed with harmonies which balance out this song perfectly.

Next we are given “Strong Rock” which features two leading Reggae artists from Jamaica, Perfect Giddimani and Fantan Mojah, both playing a vital part in the balance of this song. Spreading the message of how the Rastafarian faith can help and keep everyone as strong as a rock. The riddim again is another laid back riddim but very powerful in true, traditional Roots Reggae style.

“Trumpet Sound” is track four, this song tells a lot in it’s message to the world. The vocals are tight and flow like water out of a tap. I love the breakdown with the combination of male and female vocals which add a different flavour to this one from The Lambsbread. The riddim slightly picks up the pace from the previous tracks on the album but still has a laid back feel to it. Real instruments combined with real lyrics are perfect to open up every ear. A Goldcup Records production, mixed by Rumble Rock Records who have both come into the Reggae scene and made a great name for themselves for producing quality, complete, positive musical works.

Stepping up the pace a little more with a Jah Youth Production collaboration “Live It Up Again” is perfect for the next track of this album. The vocals are so smooth and fit perfectly with the warm and driving sound that the riddim creates for this tune, an easy song to sing along too and your bound to know the lyrics after hearing it once. The positive messages in their lyrics continue to press this album on into great new grounds, a perfect artist/producer combination, guiding us to know to live it up again, the message is clear, simple and extremely powerful.

Another great vocal/riddim combination with track six “Natural Mystic”. The Lambsbread and Ras Lil Dread sit smoothly on the riddim creating a crisp sound that you just have to keep rewinding to listen again. The riddims slowed down some and does not have as many instruments within but thats not needed as the vocal combinations work together in harmony.

“Stand Firm” featuring Prezident Brown is another big tune from out of the Rumble Rock camp. An empowering tune guiding us to stand firm and unite, the passion from both The Lambsbread and Prezident Brown is evident, the riddim runs smoothly, complimenting all featured. Again another well produced song, great hook lines delivered consistently create for a powerful and strong finished product.

Moving on to track eight we have “Long Trod” of which the lead vocals capture our attention by being slightly darker than the previous tunes. This is a nice variation for the album, drawing in our attention completed by stunning backing vocals, perfectly mixed which counts for a lot when trying to reach a certain flavour. This song basically tells us the story of a hard road but if we keep our faith we can get through what ever is deemed into our path.

“Keep It Blazing” again another strengthening sound produced by More Life Productions and VIS Records. The lyrics are bang on point, anyone going though a hard time will know that they are not alone with this and to continue moving forward, keep on keeping on. A tough riddim backs this one, driving baseline with an array of instruments subtly in the mix. “Keep it Blazing” or moving forward from any dislikers or badmind behaviour being the ultimate message but some may take another message from this one too.

Switching up the feel now, track ten. The Lambsbread bless us with a sweet driving love song “Right Ting” beautiful lyrics, beautiful backing harmonies set in stone with a powerful riddim. “Right Ting” certainly is the right thing for our ears. Spreading the universal message of Love, when a man loves a woman expressing it deeply and passionately comes to a great result with this song.

Keeping in line with the classical Roots Reggae sound and powerful riddims “Jah Love Forever” is a huge tune for this album. The lead vocals are confident, fresh and smoothly takes us on a journey of faith and certainty, probably one of my favourite songs from this album. It’s well produced, well thought out and carries the message of Jah’s love for everyone. I especially like the female break down in this, really passionate and again perfectly produced as to achieve maximum power of the message that The Lambsbread are sharing with us.

“Where Is The Love” totally changes the pace, taking it down a notch. The lyrics and vocals in this have a lot of depth to them, the riddim is a Roots Reggae style but with a hip hop feel with a piano section throughout which creates a great uplifting skip consistently. The baseline is rough but smooth, contradicting I know but have a listen for yourself and you will hear. The Lambsbread’s vocals are almost hypnotic within this, grabbing your ears and making sure you hear the message they are giving. Which is a message many should be asking nowadays, where is the love?

“Right Ting hip hop mix” flows next as track thirteen. Great to hear this switched up onto a different style of riddim, the hip hop feel to this is perfect for the vocals and lyrical content. Slightly more up tempo than the Reggae mix of “Right Ting” which adds a lot to the song. An already flawless song with solid lyrics this is bound to open up new ears to Roots Reggae.

“Sell It Off” featuring Rastar, completes the album, even though I don’t really feel the riddim as its more of a Dancehall style beat. Not the usual generic Dancehall computer generated beats though, it actually has musical instruments featured in it. A powerful driving kick drum and deep bass will be a hit with all Reggae fans that love something a little faster than the roots. Positive lyrics flow and even though its not the sort of song I listen to, still I enjoyed the lyrics, the feel and the sound generated from this tune.

On a whole I have to say that this album is very good, the songs deliverance, lyrical content, artist performance and overall production is bang on point. All the songs fit perfectly in unison, creating a great vibe throughout. Anyone that purchases this album, I advise that they play it loud, the louder the better, as to get the full effect of the driving baselines that adorn it. Every aspect that I look for in a positive Reggae album is covered with The Lambsbread’s “Bring Them Together” which is available as a pre-order on iTunes on the 20th April 2014, release date 29th April 2014.
