Junior Morgan Biography

Junior Morgan

Sanjay Morgan, known by his fans as Junior Morgan, is one of the latest Artists to emerge from Jamaica’s Reggae scene.

At only 29 years old, he’s already been immersing himself in his love of music for well over ten years and it certainly shows when you listen to his work. Whether he’s singing about politics, or love, his lyrics are concise, meaningful and conscious at all times and his style, although influenced by many of Reggaes finest songwriters, is very much his own and remains authentic and grounded in its roots throughout.

Junior Morgan grew up in Spanish Town, Jamaica, which has also seen the likes of Lutan Fyah and Chronixx emerge from it over the past decade. He openly expresses his love for his home town, but following in his fathers footsteps admits he is actually a countryman at heart and speaks often of returning to live in the countryside when the right time comes. Although struggles have, and still do exist, the young artist has been raised as part of a close family who look out for and support one another at all times, and this in turn, is very evident in his character.

Over the past few years Morgan has released a number of tracks including ‘King and a Queen’, ‘Mr Jacket and Tie’ and ‘Things take time’ as well as working with several producers both in Jamaica and abroad. In 2017 Morgan teamed up with Kin Riddimz, a producer based in Bulgaria and released ‘Thankful’ on the Old Tape Riddim. This received some really positive reviews after the video was premiered by Reggaeville and the pair decided, following this, to start working on Morgans debut album together.

With family ties now bringing the artist to the UK regularly he is starting to make more links with Europe as a whole and is looking to get out and perform live more often internationally as well as at home. He has just released his Debut Album – Hilltop with Kin Riddimz and the response has been incredibly positive. Morgan certainly has a passion for his music as well as life in general and 2019 looks set to be a year full of achievements and progress if things continue as they are.
