Hot on the heels of their recent work with Chyna Nicole’s fresh, early summer hit Butterflies, Jumpout Production’s Gary Sutherland and composer Terry Vibes have once again joined forces. This time, the offering is a summery AfroDancehall riddim with a difference: offering party vibes along with a dose of message music, as the featured artists discuss political and social issues.
Party Bounce Riddim is set to be released by Jumpout Production on 7 June. It’s the latest project from founder Gary Sutherland; an alumnus of Tuff Gong Studios who launched the label in 2004. Party Bounce Riddim sees four artists contribute their interpretations. And the riddim itself is a fresh, hybrid composition from Vibes that combines elements of Reggae, Afrobeats and Dancehall to create that eponymous title feeling.

The artists involved offer a varied selection of interpretations. Conroy Smith delivers a stark warning about how humans are destroying the planet on Mother Nature. Over You sees Mikey Melody lament that lost love we’ve all experienced. Then, Chyna Nicole featuring Sutherland on singjay duties brings us Touch, a sultry, sensuous affair dripping with Soul. And Apache Santana closes Party Bounce Riddim with Racism – a cry for unity in the face of the institutional racism the system metes out.
Sutherland said of Party Bounce Riddim:
“My inspiration first and foremost I’m spiritually connected with them and once you have that you know that everything else will fall in place because they will give good content and good energy. No form of ego was in the process while working with these artists. Everything just went smoothly as I predicted. The energy was right. The vibe was right.
