Copenhagen’s S.J.P. Records is thrilled to announce the release of the debut album from Jah Turban, Mama Africa, with an online release on iTunes.

Jah Turban, born Ian Thompson. African descendant, rebirth in Jamaica. A Rastaman Bobo Ashanti, broke onto the scene in 2010 with the underground hit singles “Move Vampire” & “Babylon Doom” from the EP Africa Is Our Home. His sound has been described as creating a new distinguish style compared to Lutan Fyah, Junior Kelly and Jah Mason. Jah Turban now returns in 2014 with a scorching new Reggae set of 13 songs.

Mama Africa Reggae album is a tribute to the mother land, it is a collection of roots and up-tempo vibes, The album includes a few of his already released songs with some powerful and dynamic new tracks.

Mama Africa the title track of the album, is fully rooted in the Nyah Bingi tradition, Rebel With A Cause features Anthony B who was by far the best Reggae artist at the recent S.R. Festival. in Copenhagen.

The album songs are based on the message of love, equality and justice as well as things that Jah Turban has experienced in day to day life.

So with the Bobo Warrior, Jah Turban’s appealing voice and Conscious lyrics, S.J.P. Records knows this album is really positive and a must to have for the whole of society at large and for the youths of today.
