Dancehall artist Chapboss and up-and-coming Austrian production/label outfit Three Lake Music have just released what is the perfect end-of-summer anthem. Already clocking up tens of thousands of streams online, this AfroDancehall banger is hot, fiery and ‘finger-licking good’, too.

KFC sees Chapboss and Three Lake Music construct a fresh, bang up-to-date party cut. It’s the perfect example of the Afrobeats sound merging with some Dancehall vibes – plus there’s even a touch of RnB thrown in, too.

That stuttering, instantly recognisable Afrobeats percussion line drives the sound – with its on-then-offbeat snare and the jittery hi-hats. Three Lake Music has nodded to Trap as well, making sure the track is fresh in terms of where Dancehall’s most modern influences are coming from. KFC’s bass is booming – bringing a smooth wind with it that makes you want to drop those Hot Wings and box ‘em advance.

But Three Lake Music also know how to bring some class to a track, too. Check KFC’s detailed piano line – which switches between nodding to a Reggae bubble rhythm, then going full on RnB across a cleverly composed melody.
