Dre Island

Dre Island is undoubtedly one of the more intelligent and exciting young musicians, to emerge out of Kingston, Jamaica. Born Andre Johnson, on May 2, 1988, Dre Island exhibited a very strong interest towards music at a young age. Silkki Wonda, “Shaydz”, was born Ricardo Y. Lynch on July 17, 1986. Shaydz’s Mother and Father raised Shaydz and his two older sisters in Rollinton, Kingston. It was the combination of growing up in the heart of Kingston City and in a Christian household, which provided a balance for Shaydz and his sisters.
